Requirements for this position are as follows;

*Full Fetac level 6 is a basic requirement

*Experience would be preferable.

*Good understanding of written and spoken English is essential

*Qualifications must be recognised by Fetac in writing

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS: Minimum QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Award and 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education Sector

About the Aim Support Worker role: The role is a support role, providing guidance, support and assistance to the one child and/or or to the room and Early Years team when and as needed.


  • Supervision of the child at all times where required
  • Support given to increase child’s access and inclusion into daily activities, routines and group play
  • Support to encourage positive peer interactions and to foster positive social and emotional development in the child
  • Support to help the child in daily self-care (e.g. changing, toileting, eating, cleaning face and hands) Additional support in all forms of child’s development where required, in partnership with team members.

About the After School Practitioner role: Assisting in developing, co-ordinating and directing varied activities involved in an After School Programme for children aged 4 to 12 years.


Collaborate with the Manager for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/ or programmes

  • Co-ordinate the implementation of activities suitable for this age group
  • Maintain room, and equipment, to ensure the health and safety of children at all times E
  • Ensure a good standard of hygiene
  • Be aware of all policies and follow same
  • Be aware of child protection procedures and advise manager should you have any concerns about a child
  • Supervise homework activities.
  • Preform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time

Experience:   Working in an Early Years environment: 2 years (Required)
