Montessori & Afterschool Teacher Posts & Chef Role

The LIttle School, Airfield, Dundrum

After a very successful first year of Montessori and second year of After School, The Little School is growing and offering you the opportunity to be part of this adventure.  We bring to Dundrum a unique learning and living experience for both children and staff.  Located in the heart of Airfield Estate, the school is set in The Calf House on 38 acres of farmland, giving children access to the most natural of environments.  The Little School is an independent traditional Montessori which aims to deliver learning both inside and outside the classroom. 

Role 1: Montessori Teacher  (Full time)


  • Minimum Level 6 Montessori Qualification and 3 years’ experience in Montessori delivery
  • Experience in designing, developing and delivering Montessori Curriculum in line with Aistear and Siolta Principles
  • Ability to support, motivate, inspire and  enhance children’s learning
  • Be familiar with DES and Tusla requirements for ECCE programme roll out

Role 2: Childcare/After School Support  (Part Time/Afternoons)


  • Minimum Level 6 Childcare Qualification
  • Support the principles of healthy and sustainable, seasonal cooking and eating
  • Help with school pickups and homework supervision
  • Help to develop a full suite of activities for After School 
  • Assist with after school child care and support

For both roles:

  • Be a positive team member and support other staff to achieve the best results for the children and for the school
  • Demonstrate a love of the outdoors and a willingness to share this with the children
  • Demonstrate positive and energetic work ethic and a positive approach to all aspects of the job
  • Fluent English

School Cook/Chef Role

The Little School provides healthy, nutritious and seasonal meals to our afterschool children each day.  We are seeking someone to plan, prepare and serve meals, supported by afterschool staff.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Planning meals and snacks including school shopping online
  • Preparation of healthy and seasonal snacks and evening meals 
  • Strong presentation skills, ensuring that food is presented to a high standard 
  • Minimise waste and identify cost saving measures 
  • HACCP Qualification and Experience
  • Ordering and stock control including stock takes.
  • Carry out any other duties associated with the role and as assigned by management
  • Must allow garda vetting and child protection training

Montessori & Afterschool Teacher (end of Aug 2021)

Enniskerry Montessori & Afterschool Care, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow

Full Time: 37.5hrs per week 09:00 – 17:30 / Mon to Fri / Sept to June each year (38weeks)

We require an experienced, caring, creative and dynamic Montessori teacher to join our small team from the end of August 2021. Excellent salary dependant on experience with paid holidays for Mid-terms, Christmas, Easter & all Bank Holidays. 

  • Minimum QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent.
    • Previous Montessori experience (is essential).
    • Knowledge of Aistear, Síolta and the Early Years (Pre-school services) Regulations is essential.
    • Certificate in First Aid and Children First (Child Protection) training would be an advantage.
    • Excellent communication & written skills to document learnings along with maintaining all relevant records.
    • Fluent English (is essential).
    • Basic knowledge of Irish language (desirable).

Montessori Assistants Sept 2021

Ballinteer Montessori School, Nutgrove Office Park, Rathfarnham

Part Time: 25 hours per week 9am – 2pm. Experience not essential, full training will be given.
